Fiorentina Target Luisao Wants Manchester City Move – Report
The Brazilian defender wants to join the Premier League, although he has attracted interest from elsewhere.
Fiorentina are reportedly on the lookout for a few key players, following the sale of Felipe Melo to Juventus for a fee of around €20 million plus Marco Marchionni.
The Viola are desperate to add some quality to their defensive ranks, and so they are tracking the progress of the Brazilian Luisao, who plays for Benfica in Portugal.
The latest reports suggest that the 28-year-old defender would cost the Italian club around €15m, but they face some tough competition from Manchester City, a club that the player himself would love to join.
“So far I am yet to receive an official offer from anywhere,” Luisao affirmed in an interview reported by ITA Sport Press.
“I have not spoken to my agent Giugiliano Bertolucci about the issue all that much, but in the coming days I hope to know more.
“I am flattered by the reported interest of Manchester City, and I would welcome a move there to join up with my fellow Brazilian team-mates in Robinho and Elano.
“I have a commitment until 2011 with Benfica though, so I will respect them, and not discuss my future until there is something for me to consider.”
