Fabrizio Preziosi Confirms Genoa's Agreement For Valencia's Emiliano Moretti
The defender could soon be signing a deal with the Rossoblu, as all the signs point to a Serie A return...
Genoa general director Fabrizio Preziosi has confirmed that one of their main targets, Valencia defender Emiliano Moretti, could be joining the club in the coming weeks.
Preziosi also commented that there are other players in their shortlist, but that their operations in the transfer market are almost complete at this point.
"Moretti is one of the players who we are following and is one of the most interesting ones," explained the Grifoni's director to Telenord.
"Even last year we had made an offer and now we have already reached an agreement. For the central defender we ware evaluating between a shortlist of four or five elements. We'll see in the coming days.
"I underline the fact that once we have signed the central defender, we will already be competitive. We are working also for a winger and a midfielder. The club is working well and aims to strengthen this squad."
It will be difficult for Genoa to improve on last season's fifth-place finish, but they certainly seem to be building towards another push for Europe.
