Milan CEO Adriano Galliani: Real Madrid Have Destabilised The Transfer Market

The Rossoneri executive has blamed los Merengues’ free-spending for the inflated prices in the transfer market.

Milan vice president Adriano Galliani flew back to Italy yesterday after ineffectual talks with Real Madrid supremo Florentino Perez, who he has since blamed for destabilising the transfer market.

Galliani reportedly tried to get a loan deal for 25-year-old forward Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, but the proposal was bluntly rejected by Perez.

“They demand €20-30 million for a striker? We say goodbye and go home. A domino effect triggered by Real is setting in, because every club asks €20-30m for any player these days," Galliani complained to the Corriere Dello Sport.

“After all, only Real Madrid have spent money so far. The top four English clubs have done nothing. And only Diego has arrived in Italy from abroad at Juventus.

“We will show up again when the prices go down, not earlier. The fans have to understand that it’s not possible to negotiate at these prices.

“Our coach will have at least six offensive players at his disposal: [Clarence] Seedorf; [Filippo] Inzaghi; [Marco] Borriello; [Alexandre] Pato; Ronaldinho; and Gianmarco Zigoni. Yes, our young recruit will get into the first team, just like it happened with [Alberto] Paloschi.”

Milan signed highly-rated striker Zigoni from Treviso last month for a reported fee of just €1.2m.
