Juventus Defender Legrottaglie Angry At FIFA For Opposing Religious Celebrations
Juventus defender Nicola Legrottaglie doesn't understand why FIFA wants players to avoid thanking God or praying while celebrating.
It was the Danish federation who formally issued a protest against the Brazilians, which led to FIFA's warning that religious players should contain themselves on the pitch.
This has not gone down well with highly religious Juventus defender Nicola Legrottaglie, who wrote a book on how finding Jesus helped him out of a difficult period both personally and professionally.
"If praying to God is wrong, I would like to know what is considered acceptable," he said to Tuttosport.com.
"FIFA should worry about more violent behaviour. I believe everyone should be able to thank God how they want. Also the Egyptians thanked Allah, but no one said anything about that."
