Milan have found an alternative to Porto's Aly Cissokho after turning their attentions to Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale, according to Il Corriere Dello Sport.
The Rossoneri's move for the Mali left-back hit stumbling blocks following a medical last month, and they are now surveying the ground for the Welshman. The 19-year-old, who turns 20 on July 16, has already been linked with a Serie A move. Inter coach Jose Mourinho wanted Bale during the winter transfer window, but he missed out as Tottenham played hard ball.
"Bale has impressed me so much and I think he will become greater than Ashley Cole," Mourinho said back in January as reported by ll Corriere Dello Sport.
It is suggested that Milan directors Ariedo Braida and Adriano Galliani are keeping close tabs on the Premier League star, who can adapt to play further forward. Despite voices in Milan, there has not been an official comment from the player or either club.
Belief in Italy is that Milan still want Cissokho, but they will try their luck with Bale if that move collapses again.
