Italy U-21 Coach Casiraghi Hails Inter Starlet Mario Balotelli
According to the Azzurrini boss, 'Super Mario' is destined for greatness...
Italy Under-21 boss Pierluigi Casiraghi coached Inter striker Mario Balotelli at the recent European championships in Sweden and is very impressed by the player, suggesting that the youngster may even be ready for the senior Azzurri side.
"I do not know what will happen, but he is a player that has the potential to be truly great," he explained to Sky Sport 24.
"I think he has the opportunity to take a step forward to the national team. I am not sure when, as this depends on the needs and choices of [coach Marcello] Lippi."
The former Lazio and Chelsea hitman admitted that the player's attitude was not the best, but reminded everyone that he is still a teenager.
"Mario has a very strong personality, he must learn that he is in a team and a group, which is part of an elite number of players that are predestined," he continued.
"We must not forget he is 18-years-old and has all the merits and defects of that. He must grow, but it is hard to find a player so strong at that age."
Balotelli scored eight goals for the Serie A champions this past campaign.
