Udinese Director: No Scheduled Meetings With Juventus Over Gaetano D’Agostino
The Friulans have seemingly closed the door on the Bianconeri and Spanish sources claim Liverpool could lure him to Anfield if Alonso leaves for Real.
Udinese president Giampaolo Pozzo warned last night that Juventus had until July 6 to meet their asking price for Italy international Gaetano D’Agostino, but Zebrette director of sport Sergio Gasparin is sceptical that the Old Lady's directors will make a U-turn.
“We have not found an agreement with Juve and there are no scheduled meetings with [Juve sporting director] Alessio Secco,” Gasparin told reporters at the Lega Calcio headquarters this morning.
“We want to keep hold of the player and hope to convince him and manage to give him back his enthusiasm.
“The deal with Juve is dead, but there are several clubs that have showed interest. Milan? No, they have not come forward, but Inter did contact us a while ago.”
Meanwhile, Spanish newspaper AS claims that Liverpool could turn to D’Agostino if Rafa Benitez allows Xabi Alonso to join Real Madrid.
Alonso is also an alternative for Juve, but latest press reports in Italy suggest the Corso Galileo Ferraris directors are also tracking Fiorentina star Felipe Melo.
