Roma Begin Pre-Season Preparations
The Giallorossi are the first Italian side to go to camp...
According to Sky Sport Italia, coach Luciano Spalletti was the first to arrive at the club's training ground. He was followed by a number of players, including French defender Philippe Mexes, while a number of fans were present to greet their heroes.
The report claims the players will have a medical before heading onto the training pitch for a brief run. They will then have lunch and prepare for the trip to Brunico in northern Italy, where they will resume their summer training schedule.
Roma will begin full preparations tomorrow. They will then have friendly matches on July 5 against a local team, July 12 against Duisburg and another friendly on the 16 against opponents who have not been confirmed.
The club's Europa League adventure begins on July 30, when they play in the third preliminary round. Sporting director Daniele Prade was also at the club's training ground and he suggested they would not be spending massive sums during the summer transfer market.
"The squad is fine as it is," Prade said.
