Fiorentina Will Sell Felipe Melo - Alberto Gilardino
The Italian feels Fiorentina will be powerless to stop Felipe Melo from joining a major club...
‘Gila’ has just returned from his Confederations Cup adventure with Italy and he is looking forward to banishing the experience into history. The hitman is focussing on club football, hinting that Melo, who has been outstanding for Brazil in South Africa, will be sold. So far, reports have claimed Arsenal are keen to sign the 25-year-old.
"I have not spoken with Melo directly. He played well against Italy and he is an excellent player, but I have the feeling he will be sold," Gilardino told Il Corriere Dello Sport.
Fiorentina are in the Champions League for a second consecutive season and the striker is hoping to improve and build upon last year's progress.
"Looking at the squad we have, everything is possible," added the striker.
"We have a great coach and the club has clear ideas. The people are fantastic and we are an example of solidarity.
"How can we improve? There isn't much [to improve], but I expect two or three good players to come in and strengthen the team."
