FIGC President Giancarlo Abate was extremely disappointed with Italy's exit from the Confederations Cup, as the Azzurri crashed out of the competition.
They were certainly no match for Brazil on the evening, as the Selecao obtained a comfortable 3-0 victory in Pretoria and qualified for the semi-finals along with the United States.
"We were too ugly," he was quoted as saying by ANSA, following the heavy loss to their South American opponents
"The defeat was deserved and we are justly eliminated from the Confederations Cup."
Italy really never clicked in the tournament, only beating the ten-man USA before succumbing to losses against Egypt and Brazil.
"Now we must learn from the experience in order to retrieve our ability to compete with significant opposition," he concluded.
The World Cup champions still remain atop of their qualifying group in Europe, having collected 14 points from six matches.
