Serie A announced its breakaway from the current Lega Calcio system over a month ago and now some new developments have arrived, regarding the timing of the kick-off of fixtures for the coming season.
With the split set to take effect for the 2010-11 season, it has been announced that one game will take place on a Sunday lunchtime, in order to satisfy the demands of the current broadcasting body.
As Italy’s top flight looks to close the financial gap with the Premier League, this most recent move will almost certainly give fans a greater opportunity to follow all the action during the course of the weekend.
With the prospect of having to skip Sunday lunch, however, it remains to be seen how the stadium going fans will respond to the changes.
