The big hitman has given his views on what led him to leave Inter...Former Inter striker Adriano insists he has never used drugs as he explains what pushed him out of the Italian side following his debut goal with Flamengo at the weekend.
The Brazilian got his new career with the Rubanegro off to a great start after bagging a goal against Atletico Paranaense. Adriano joined the club back in April after rescinding his contract with Inter.
Speculation regarding his behaviour off the pitch was rife when he failed to return to Italy. A number of Brazilian reports claimed 'L'Imperatore' had criminal drug-dealer friends - leading to further voices which alleged wrongdoing.
However, Adriano has revealed he has never come close to drugs or other transgressive behaviour as he gives his views on the Inter row.
"I was out of control when my father died and I did things I shouldn't have," Adriano told Rede Globo.
"I used to drink lots to forget about what happend and to sleep, but it never worked, it made it worse. I used to be able to control myself in Brazil, but I used to fall back down when returning [to Italy].
"Drugs? Never. We can speak about anything, but not about using drugs."
