thumbnail Hello,

'Il Capitano' was on the score-sheet once again as the Giallorossi finished their season with a win at home.

Roma managed to overcome a determined Torino outfit 3-2 at the Stadio Olimpico yesterday afternoon, a result that doomed their opponents to relegation.

Jeremy Menez, Mirko Vucinic and Francesco Totti did the damage up front for the Giallorossi, with the latter equalling Giampiero Boniperti in ninth place for goals scored in the Italian top-flight.

At the completion of the match, Totti revealed his pleasure at having drawn level with the legend, as well as his thoughts of the season.

“I am pleased to have achieved this feat, although I would have hoped for a better season overall,” Totti affirmed in an interview with Sky.

“We were very unlucky throughout, as we suffered a number of significant injuries. Anyway, we still achieved our most important goal, with that being qualifying for Europe.”

The Roma No. 10 went on to discuss the future of his coach Luciano Spalletti, who has been linked with a move elsewhere in recent weeks.

He added, “I really do hope that Spalletti remains at the club. I have spoken with the president, and she assures me that he will stay put, so I have to believe her.

“As for myself, next year my aim is to reach Roberto Baggio’s mark of 205 goals. I’d like to achieve that next season.”
