Former Olympique Lyonnais captain Juninho Pernambucano might be playing in Serie A next season as Inter have been linked to the talented midfielder. According to Telelombardia, the Nerazzurri are trying to land the 34-year-old.
This operation would be profitable as Juninho is available on a free transfer since he managed to agree with Lyon to terminate his contract a year before its expiration.
Apparently, Juninho's other option is to return to his homeland and end his career with Sao Paulo, but if the Italian champions decide to increase their interest in him, he might be very tempted by the idea of staying in Europe.
During his eight years at Lyon, Juninho played 237 league games and scored 73 goals for the club.
In the meantime Inter are losing interest in Marko Arnautovic, of FC Twente, who has a fracture in his right foot which was highlighted by this week's medical test, and therefore the Nerazzurri have decided to stall their negotiations.
However, the player's agent seems confident that the deal will eventually go through following new medical tests to ascertain his client's physical condition.
