Report: Pavel Nedved To Sign New Juventus Deal, Vincenzo Iaquinta Already Committed
‘Czech Fury’ is expected to shelve his retirement plans while the Italian international has penned a new deal..
The Italian press are convinced that Sunday’s home match against Lazio will not be Pavel Nedved’s final appearance in a Juventus shirt as the 36-year-old is poised to sign a new deal with the Old Lady, joining Vincenzo Iaquinta in extending his tenure at the club.
“Will he play on? Nothing is impossible, but you should ask Juve,” agent Mino Raiola is quoted as saying in La Stampa. The ex-Lazio star announced his intention to quit football in February, however, fans and team-mates alike have implored the midfield dynamo to reconsider. Indeed, Juve are not preparing any big celebration for what should be the last game of his career on Sunday.
Meanwhile, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that striker Iaquinta agreed a new deal with the Bianconeri yesterday, which will be made official over the next few hours.
Iaquinta was linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico in January, but he is now set to end all speculation about his future and will commit to the Old Lady until June 2013 with improved wages of €2.5 million per season.
