Mirko Vucinic Reveals New Roma Deal Is Very Close

After Aquilani, another important Giallorosso player is set to extend his stay in Rome as Vucinic admitted that the negotiations are almost over between himself and the club.

Roma forward Mirko Vucinic could be staying at his club for many years to come as he revealed that negotiations have been going well and there could soon be an announcement of a contract renewal.

This would follow Alberto Aquilani’s contract extension of the past days and would be a major boost for the Giallorossi following a disappointing season.

"I'm happy that Alberto has renewed his contract, because he's a very important player," declared the former Lecce player to Sky.

"I'm talking with the club right now and I hope to sign a new deal. We're at the end of the negotiations and we're very close."

Vucinic does not believe that coach Luciano Spalletti's time at Roma is over.

"I wouldn't say that the Spalletti cycle is over," he continued. "During training sessions I see him serene, but I don't know if he stays or not.

"I hope he remains, because I passed three beautiful years with him and I would be sorry if he leaves."

The 25-year-old player has been at Roma since 2006 and made 82 appearances in Serie A, scoring 21 goals in the process.
