Marek Jankulovski Foresees Tough Match For Milan Against Fiorentina
The Rossoneri must defend third place in the standings in order to reach the Champions League through the main door rather than the preliminary (play-off) round...
Milan wing-back Marek Jankulovski admitted that the team's defeat against Roma last weekend was a big set-back for them.
The 3-2 defeat means that the Rossoneri must go into the final matchday of the season needing to obtain a positive result against Fiorentina to hold on to third place in Serie A.
"It has to be said we are really disappointed with how it ended up against Roma," declared the Czech Republic player to Milan Channel.
"We missed all our chances and now we have to fight in a last match against a great team like Fiorentina. It will be very tough, but Milan are strong and can make it.
"We have to finish it off at all costs and get to the match in Florence concentrated and physically strong. In the last three games we suffered too much, perhaps we had a drop in concentration and we also had a very tough calendar.
"Juventus, then Udinese who are in great form, Roma who are competing for Europe, and now Fiorentina. But this shouldn't be an excuse and we know that we'll have to give something more on the pitch."
Milan need to defend the third place from Fiorentina by avoiding a two-goal defeat, in order to achieve direct qualification into the Champions League.
