Napoli Did Reject Liverpool Bid Says Ezequiel Lavezzi's Agent
The agent has shed more light on Liverpool's moves to land the Argentine, confirming that an initial bid was rejected but hinting that the player could be tempted to leave by a mega wage package...
Ezequiel Lavezzi's agent Eduardo Rossetto has confirmed that Napoli did reject a Liverpool bid for the hitman, but he admits the striker could still end up leaving, if a club satisfies Aurelio De Laurentiis' demands.
"Napoli own the player, and they have the last word," the agent told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.
"I can confirm that an important offer exceeding €20million was made, but De Laurentiis did not consider it sufficient."
Despite Napoli rejecting the bid, Rossetto believes his client may end up leaving eventually, especially if Liverpool up their offer. The agent hinted that the Reds have offered to triple his wages.
"Will he stay? That depends on Napoli. It's like owning a car. If it's just an average motor then you don't have to spend much on maitainence.
"But, if it's a high spec type, then it will cost you more," added the agent, in reference to Napoli's costs of keeping their man.
"Without going into too much detail, Lavezzi's wages would be tripled."
