Cannavaro Recommends Mahamadou Diarra To Juventus

The Italian veteran believes that the Malian would be an excellent addition to the Bianconeri's midfield for next season.

Fabio Cannavaro will be wearing the Juventus kit once again from July 2009 after signing for the club on a free deal from Real Madrid
According to the Corriere dello Sport, upon signing with Juventus, Fabio Cannavaro recommended Real Madrid's Mahamadou Diarra to Alessio Secco, as he believes that he would fit perfectly in the Old Lady's squad.

Diarra is from Mali - just like Juve midfielder Mohammed Sissoko - and Cannavaro is convinced that the 28-year-old was born to play in Serie A.

He joined the Merengues in 2006 following a request by then-coach Fabio Capello, and even Roberto Mancini wanted to sign him for Inter at one point.

Injury problems have slowed him down this season, limiting him to just nine appearances in Spain's Primera Division and three in the Champions League.

Diarra was signed by Madrid for €26 million from Olympique Lyon, but the Bernabeu outfit will most likely let him go for half that price now - due in no small part to the excellent form of his namesake, Lassana Diarra.

It must still be seen if Juventus and Secco will follow the advice of Cannavaro, who is trying to win back the affection of the Bianconeri fans by bringing another champion with him.
