Zlatan Ibrahimovic Uncertain Of Inter Future But Director Believes He Will Stay
‘Ibra’ has played down his antics during last night’s win over Siena, but he refused to commit his future to the Nerazzurri.
Inter celebrated their fourth straight Serie A title with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Siena at the San Siro, but Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic once again stole the show.
The ex-Juventus man netted the third goal but had previously hit-out at Mario Balotelli after the teenage hitman tucked the ball into an empty net for Inter’s second. The Swede then repeatedly asked to be substituted.“I wanted to come off because I was tired and I had picked up a knock, but the coach has so much faith in me,” Ibrahimovic told Sky Italia.
“I ran a lot and then I scored, but the important thing is that we won as champions in front of our own fans. We have to keep going and try to win everything.”
It has been suggested that ‘Ibra’ is looking for a fresh challenge and could leave the peninsula at the end of the season.
“My contract runs out in 2012 or in 2013; anything can happen,” mused the forward.
“It depends on the club and what the coach wants. There are no guarantees in football.”
Meanwhile, Inter CEO Ernesto Paolillo is confident the Swede will stay at the San Siro. “I don’t think he will say goodbye this year,” Paolillo insisted on Radio Anch’Io Lo Sport this morning.
“I am not worried, his nervousness is that of a great champion who always wants to give his all. He wants to be at the top at all times.”
