Cicinho had his season cut short by a knee injury suffered in training, resulting in surgery for the Roma full-back. However, he has assured the supporters that he is keen to make up for his long-term absence.

"There is no worry, my recovery is going well," he explained to fans at a social event by the waterfront in Rome, according to tuttomercatoweb.

"I will come back for the start of the new season."

The Brazilian has been inconsistent since joining the Giallorossi in 2007, with injuries hampering his form. This season he only managed 22 appearances in league play.

Roma will have to continue to do without the former Real Madrid player for their remaining matches against Catania, AC Milan, and Torino.
