Inter coach Jose Mourinho is like the legendary Helenio Herrera according to the former Nerazzurri tactician's widow, Fiora Gandolfi.

Herrera joined the Milanese giants three years before Jose Mourinho was born in 1960 and he led them to glory in the European Cup, winning it twice. Born in Argentina to Spanish parents from Andalucia, the legendary Herrera, who adopted French citizenship, was in charge of La Grande Inter of the 1960s when he achieved glory. Mourinho is tasked with bringing the European Cup, better known as the Champions League, back to San Siro, 44 years after Herrera won it.

Gandolfi can see plenty of her husband in the current Inter coach.

"Mourinho and Herrera are similar, but he is more elegant than Helenio," Gandolfi told Tuttosport.

"Maybe they have similar characteristics in terms of the latin spirit. Mourinho is from Portugal while Helenio was from Andalucia.

"I think they have the same mentality. He is good like my Helenio."

The 'Special One' is leading his side to their fourth successive Scudetto, Mourinho's first.
