Werder Bremen Star Diego: I Prefer Serie A
After months of negotiations, Diego's transfer to Juventus is seemingly close as the player speaks about his future...
Werder Bremen ace Diego has dropped the biggest hint yet that he is on his way to Juventus, lavishing high praise on the Italian club.
A number of reports have claimed the deal to land him in Turin has been completed. Diego's father and agent, Djair, has boasted that his son will definitely be heading to Juventus. Meanwhile, Werder general manager Klaus Allofs has revealed negotiations are underway with Juve. With the evidence suggesting a deal is on the horizon, Diego moved to talk about his future, however, he is waiting for the clubs to make a decision.
"The club has the power to decide, but I can also decide what is best for my career," Diego told Tuttosport.
"Juventus are a great side and I have always said this. They are the most popular team in Brazil and they have been after me since I was at Santos.
"I admire Serie A, it's the league I favour the most."
The latest reports suggest Juve will announce the deal next week as the long running saga nears a conclusion.
