Milan Star David Beckham: I’ll Be Back
‘Becks’ has reiterated his desire to return to the Rossoneri next January and win the Champions League.
English international midfielder David Beckham joined Milan on loan from MLS side Los Angeles Galaxy and is set to return to California at the end of the Serie A season.
There have been reports that the former Manchester United and Real Madrid man, who turned 34 last week, was trying to sever his ties with the California-based outfit in order to join the Diavoli on a permanent basis this summer, however, he has insisted that he will be back in Italy next year.“My wish is to play for Milan again,” Beckham admitted to the Corriere dello Sport.
“I hope it will be as soon as possible, even though I know that it won’t happen shortly. I have to honour the deal I signed with Galaxy. I don’t want to let them down.
“Will I be back in 2010? Yes, it’s possible. I am very keen to play in the Champions League, as that’s the most prestigious trophy a club can win.
“That’s my objective for next season, but I would also like to win something with my national side.”
Beckham is expected to travel with Fabio Capello’s England squad to the World Cup in South Africa next year, where the Three Lions will try to lift the trophy for the first time since 1966.
