Marcelo Zalayeta Remains Absent From Napoli Training Sessions
Napoli striker Marcelo Zalayeta again failed to show up for training today, but told the staff that he is dealing with personal problems.
Rebellious Napoli striker Marcelo Zalayeta didn't show up for training
again today. He was absent from training yesterday and has not bothered to show up again today.
However, unlike former Inter man Adriano, he has not 'disappeared'. While until yesterday he had been impossible to reach as he had his cell phone off, the Uruguayan did manage to contact members of Napoli's staff today.
General director Pierpaolo Marino spoke to him on the phone, and Zalayeta said he has personal problems that he needs to sort out and he will not return to Naples before they have been solved according to Goal.it.
The 30-year-old former Penarol striker has frequently shown signs of unease throughout the season, most recently last weekend when he was substituted in the 2-1 defeat to Siena.
A move away from Naples seems inevitable now, and coach Roberto Donadoni has already said he will not play a minute of the team's four remaining Serie A matches.
