Alberto Aquilani's agent denied that Fiorentina are interested in signing him, as he is discussing terms with the Giallorossi for a contract extension.

Alberto Aquilani is considered one of the most talented young Italian players around, but this season, the Roma winger has had a number of injury problems that have kept him off the playing field.

That hasn't stopped the rumour mill from churning, however. According to the latest speculation Fiorentina have taken an interest in him, and they are reportedly willing to give up midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic to get him. Aquilani's agent Franco Zavagli talked about this story to Violanews.com.

"It seems like someone just came up with this," he said, "at the moment he is still in talks with Roma to extend his contract. There are still some details to sort out but I think an agreement can be reached for the extension.

"Fiorentina? I think it would be a difficult deal, several variables would need to be sorted out. First of all an agreement with Roma would have to be reached and I don't think that would be easy since the club considers Aquilani a very important player and they would ask a lot of money for him.

"Would he like to go there? I think it's early to talk about it, if we would get an offer from a team other than Roma, only then would we make every necessary evaluation."
