Palermo's Davide Ballardini: Game Against Cagliari Isn't Decisive
The Rosanero and Rossoblu clash this afternoon at the Renato Barbera stadium with the winner taking another small step towards a Europa League spot...
Palermo coach Davide Ballardini does not believe that whoever loses the game between his side and Cagliari will be ruled out of the race for a European place.
"Many speak about this being a key game for the race towards Europe, but I don't agree," explained the former Atalanta coach to Rosaneronline.it
"It will be a difficult game, as they are doing very well, but it will not be decisive for our objectives."
Ballardini also said he was a little worried in the build up to the clash, because he will have to do without Aussie midfielder Mark Bresciano.
"I will have to do without Bresciano, but I hope to recover [Antonio] Nocerino," he continued.
"On the other hand, there are no problems for [Marco] Amelia and [Roberto] Guana."
Palermo are currently tied in seventh place with Cagliari, as both teams have 49 points from 33 games played. They are three points behind Roma in the race for a Europa League place.
