I Will Not Go Back To Juventus - Marcello Lippi
There is no chance of seeing the 1996 Champions League winning coach back in Turin...
Italy coach Marcello Lippi has distanced himself from a possible return to his old hunting ground Juventus by ruling out a move altogether.
A number of reports had linked the 2006 World-Cup winning coach with the Turin-based side after he was seen dining with club chief executive Jean-Claude Blanc. Despite the rumours gathering pace following the Bianconeri's recent abject form, Lippi has revealed he has no intention of going back to the club after World Cup 2010.
"There is no possibility that I will be going back to Juventus," Lippi told Il Corriere Dello Sport.
"We are friends with Blanc and I am attached to the club, but just because I go to a dinner, it doesn't mean that I will be returning to Juventus.
"It's simply not true. There is no chance that I will return to Juve."
With Fabio Cannavaro returning the the Old Lady, a number of reports claimed it was Lippi who pushed the Italian to go back. However, the coach has also stepped in to deny the voices.
"I didn't ask Cannavaro to go back to Juve. He called me to tell me his decision."
