'The Emperor' has claimed he has one place in mind, should he ever return to the pitch...

Adriano recently agreed to rescind his contract with Inter. The player, believed to be suffering from depression, is taking a break from football, perhaps permanently. Nonetheless, he has been linked with a move to a number of sides.

His agent, Gilmar Rinaldi, has ruled out that the player will return to Europe and has now denied any deal with Flamengo. However, the striker himself has shown a compelling interest to join the side where he began his career, should he decide to return to football.

"If I have to return to play, it would be at Flamengo. I'm very motivated to play for them," the ex-Parma star told the Globoesporte on Tuesday.

"The desire I have to play for Flamengo is absurd."

He went on to make it clear that he has not decided if and when he will pull the boots back on.

Adriano had a troubled year with Inter, often facing the discipline of coach Jose Mourinho. Overall, he found the net seven times for the club this term, with the effectiveness of his performances varying dramatically.

On Monday, his agent reiterated that the 27-year-old will not return to football immediately.
