Inter midfielder Dejan Stankovic was involved in his side's 1-0 defeat to Napoli on Sunday evening and is certain that his team deserved more from the match at the Stadio San Paolo.
"It's hard to accept the result, because the first half was completely controlled by Inter," suggested the 30-year-old to inter.it.
"In the second half we left some more space, but I cannot explain this result. A draw would have been more fair, but we must accept the defeat.
"The championship is not yet decided, but if someone told me that at this point we would be seven points ahead of our opponents I would not have believed them."
Meanwhile, Stankovic was given a yellow card during the match by referee Roberto Rosetti and will miss next week's match against his former team Lazio.
"I don't want to talk about the decisions of the referee. I have wonderful team-mates and I am sure they will play against Lazio in the best possible way."
The former Red Star Belgrade player has made 27 appearances in Serie A, scoring five times in 2008-09.
