Lecce’s Andrea Esposito Not Thinking About Roma Link
Esposito wants to forget about transfer speculation and focus on his side’s final league games to help them avoid relegation to Serie B.
Lecce defender Andrea Esposito could be making the jump to one of Italy's big clubs at the end of the current season if the latest transfer rumours are to be believed.
Esposito has been linked to Roma and the player would welcome such a move if it does materialise, but for the time being, he wants to concentrate on helping the Salentini avoid the drop.
“Playing in a great team is everybody’s dream,” declared the 22-year-old to Gazzetta dello Sport. “However, I’m now focused exclusively on Lecce’s survival.
“It’s the only thing that matters right now. For everything else, we shall only think about it after the end of the season.”
Esposito has been at Lecce since 2003 after being promoted from the youth team, bar one season in 2006/07 when he went on loan to Sambenedettese.
Since his return to the Giallorossi in 2007 Esposito has often featured in the first team and has also been taken into consideration by Italian national team coach Marcello Lippi following his performances this season.
