Reports in Spain claim that Lazio and Estudiantes have arrived at a deal which will see Marcos Angeleri move to Italy in the summer.

AS reports that the heads of both clubs met yesterday to discuss the move and arrived at a deal that will seal his future with Lazio.

Sources at the club apparently indicated that the Italian side will pay €3.5 million for his services and that only "details" are now stopping the five-year deal from being finalised.

The 26-year-old defender has been courted by many of the top clubs in Europe lately and both Internazionale and Atletico Madrid were also thought to be chasing his signature.

However, it looks as though Lazio have beaten them to the punch and Angeleri will move there in the summer.

It is thought that the Italian side will pay 30 percent of the figure in the next few days and then the remaining 70 percent in the summer.

Angeleri will join Lazio in June and it is thought that he will sign a five-year deal, which would tie him to the club until 2014.

The defender has made over 150 appearances for Estudiantes and some impressive performances have earned him call-ups to the Argentine national side.

He will be hoping that a move to Europe can enhance his reputation and cement his place in Diego Maradona's team.
