The Brazilian has terminated his contract with the Rossoneri and has now launched a broadside at the club.

Milan officially severed their ties with midfielder Emerson on Tuesday after agreeing the rescission of his contract by mutual consent.

The ex-Roma and Juventus man had joined from Real Madrid in 2007, however, he had made just 11 appearances in Serie A and five in the UEFA Cup this term. Milan announced the termination of his deal was due to personal reasons.

“I was feeling good but I didn’t play and I never got any explanation [as to why],” Emerson is quoted as saying in La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I had to leave. I had fitness issues last year but not this season. However, I don’t think that [coach Carlo] Ancelotti was prejudiced towards me.”

But according to affariitaliani.it, Ancelotti had a spat with Emerson soon after Easter and that was the last straw for the Diavoli.

Emerson was in the firing-line back in January after allegedly declaring that compatriot Kaka wanted to join Real Madrid. However, he later denied having made those comments.
