Milan defensive midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has begun training with the squad again at Milanello following the knee injury that has kept him out of action for several months, according to the AC Milan official website.
The World Cup winner has been restricted to just 11 matches this season, suffering cruciate ligament damage to his knee in a 1-0 win over Catania back in mid-December.
The injury and subsequent operation was originally suspected to rule him out for the remainder of the Serie A campaign, but his relatively speedy recovery means he could make a couple of appearances before the end of the season.
In recent months, Italy coach Marcello Lippi has also expressed his hope that the player would be available for the Confederations Cup tournament in June.
Meanwhile, defenders Daniele Bonera and Kakha Kaladze underwent specific exercises to help their rehabilitation from injury and Sunday's hat-trick hero, Filippo Inzaghi, had an individual training session.
