We Will Not Give Juventus A Chance - Inter Defender Cordoba
Inter defender Ivan Cordoba hopes the team can keep their ten-point lead over Juventus after this weekend's Derby d'Italia.
Inter defender Ivan Cordoba is eager to wrap up the Scudetto for his side as soon as possible. In an interview with Sky, he talked about the team's determination heading into this weekend's big match against Juventus.
"It's a very important match for both teams," he said. "I don't know if it will be decisive, the important thing will be our mentality in this match, our intention must be to win and not give them any chance.
"Would a draw be enough? Yes, but it's better if we win. It would be another demonstration of maturity and improvement by the team."
The Colombian made a recap of the team's season as well, which will most probably see them crowned Italian champions for the fourth consecutive year.
"We never gave up, we managed to get through the tough times, which there were, also thanks to the help of some players who were ready when there were injuries.
"I think that was important, the compactness of the group. No one expected us to have such a big lead, we are happy and we want to keep it to win the league with a few games to spare. It depends only on us."
The 32-year-old also talked about Mario Balotelli and Adriano.
"Balotelli has some great qualities and the only advice I would give him is to listen to his team-mates, especially the more experienced ones, because he needs to understand that when someone tells him something it's for his own good, because he's very young and still has a lot to learn," he commented.
"I've talked often with Adriano, also when he was in Brazil, and he always wanted to come back and do well. The last time I talked to him, before he came back, he told me he really wanted to do well, for the team, for us, so I'm disappointed about what's going on."
