The talisman insists that there are no problems surrounding a new deal as he looks towards a fourth placed finish in Serie A...

Roma captain Francesco Totti is confident that he will pen a new deal at the club after underlining the importance of finishing the season with a Champions League place.

'Er Pupone’s’ current contract expires next June, but the club have not made their move to offer him new terms just yet. Nevertheless, the Rome-born ace, who has spent his whole career at the club, is confident of an extension.

"When the time is right, we will all sit down and find an agreement," Totti told Il Corriere Dello Sport.

"My objective is to play for as long as possible because I have shown that I am not finished. Once I sign on, all the drama regarding this subject will be over."

Totti insists his side have to show their worth and rise to the challenge of finishing fourth this season. The captain has told his colleagues to make one final push for the Champions League.

"We have one objective and that is to score as many points as we can in order to reach the Champions [League] zone," added Totti.

"We have to win every game. Everyone has to give their contribution as that is the only way to reach our objectives."
