thumbnail Hello,

The Montenegrin ace knows full well the importance of the Derby with Lazio and hopes to recover from injury in time to play a part.

Mirko Vucinic sat out Roma's 2-1 win over Bologna yesterday due to a muscular injury sustained on international duty with Montenegro last week.

The setback is not very serious, but the 25-year-old is also struggling with back problems and could be forced to watch next Saturday’s grudge Derby della Capitale against Lazio from the stands.

“I want to be there to face Lazio,” Vucinic admitted to the Corriere dello Sport.

“I know what the Derby means in Rome and I don’t like being a spectator, even more so in such an important clash. I can’t assure you I will be available and much will depend on how the situation evolves over the next few days.

“However, I can guarantee that I will do everything to step onto the pitch.”

Roma triumphed 1-0 in the first Derby of the season back in November - Julio Baptista scored the decisive goal.
