thumbnail Hello,

The Montenegro maestro could be given a starting berth in Bergamo...

With Adrian Mutu set to miss out and Alberto Gilardino a doubt, Fiorentina youngster Stevan Jovetic is likely to be given a chance to shine against Atalanta, according to the Corriere dello Sport.

Star player Adrian Mutu is struggling with knee problems and Alberto Gilardino has only resumed training this week and must pass a late fitness test to feature in Bergamo. In any event, Jovetic is expected to act as a support striker to either Gilardino or the seldom used Emiliano Bonazzoli.

The Italian and Romanian international strikers have combined for 28 of the team's 39 goals in the league this season, thus carrying the squad with their goals in the hunt for fourth place and Champions League qualification.

Meanwhile, Jovetic had recently discussed his concern about his lack of playing time under coach Cesare Prandelli. The 19-year-old has made just 16 appearances this season, many of them as a substitute. However, he played all 180 minutes in two matches for Montenegro over this past week.
