Robert Acquafresca’s future has been subject to much speculation in recent weeks, as Inter are expected to bring him back to base from his loan spell at Cagliari, while Lazio are said to be lining up an audacious summer bid.
The 21-year-old has spent two impressive seasons in Sardinia and has already equalled last season’s tally of 10 goals in Serie A with nine games remaining.
“I obviously want to surpass this record, considering that there is still a good number of games left to play,” Acquafresca admitted to the Corriere dello Sport.
“I have read about Lazio’s interest in me and I am clearly pleased. If great clubs hold me in such high esteem, it means I am doing well and I have to keep going down this path.
“However, I too don’t know about my future right now and I am curious to see how it will shape up. I believe it will be up to Inter to make up their mind about me.
“I just think it’s important for a 22-year-old to play consistently. For now I am only focused on Cagliari and then we’ll see.”
