Juventus have been plagued by an unusual spate of injuries this season, but coach Claudio Ranieri has now been boosted by news that midfielder Cristiano Zanetti and defender Jonathan Zebina are almost ready to return to action and to help the side in the crucial final months of the season.
Zanetti has been sidelined since the start of February, when he suffered a thigh strain during the home defeat by Cagliari. It was the umpteenth setback for the 31-year-old, who had already missed four months of the season with a similar injury.
Zebina, meanwhile, has made only one appearance in Serie A so far and has been dogged by fitness problems after undergoing surgery on an inflamed tendon back in November.
But La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the 30-year-old has been training regularly at Vinovo in recent days and should be available after the international break.
Pavel Nedved also shrugged off a bout of pharyngitis and worked with the rest of his team-mates yesterday, and should be at Ranieri’s disposal for the visit of Chievo next weekend.
