Italy’s Buffon Lists World’s Best Goalkeepers From Serie A

The Azzurri stopper was in a kind mood, as he spoke to journalists ahead of Italy’s two World Cup qualifiers.
Gianluigi Buffon and his Italian national team are preparing for two crucial World Cup qualifying matches in the coming week, against Montenegro and Ireland respectively.

The number one 'keeper spoke with the journalists and reports in a press conference a little earlier in the day, where he made some kind comments in regards to some of the other goal keepers in the Serie A.

“I think that to be the best at what you do, you must perform on a consistent basis. In terms of goalkeepers, I believe that [Albano] Bizzarri, [Sebastian] Frey and Julio Cesar are up there with the best in the world,” Buffon declared in the press conference.

The Juventus shot-stopper went on to make reference to the coach and superstar of Inter, by commenting on recent issues that have affected their club.

[Jose] Mourinho can not be considered an intelligent person, but for me there is nothing worse than to speak badly of a colleague, so everyone should try to respect him.

“On [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, I think that a professional like him would never create such problems for his team at a time like this,” Buffon concluded, in regards to Ibra’s recent rumoured link to Barcelona.

The Italians face Montenegro on the road this weekend, before hosting Ireland in a top of the table clash early next week.
