Cambiasso: Inter Were Great
Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso has been giving his reaction to playing in central defence and the Nerazzurri's win over Reggina...
Along with Douglas Maicon and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Esteban Cambiasso is almost irreplaceable at Inter.
The Argentine scored in the team’s win over Reggina this afternoon, and has been speaking to the Inter Channel.
“We all played with the right attitude today,” he began.
“Sometimes, after so many night games, it’s hard to play in the afternoon, but we started well, and that set the tone for the whole game.
“It’s about communication, between the two central midfielders, as well as the defenders. You have to know who is covering who and where, and we all did that really well.”
The 28-year-old played as a centre-back, alongside the Colombian Nelson Rivas, because of injuries.
“I don’t want to spend time analysing what we might have done better after winning 3-0,” the former Real Madrid man continued.
“We did a lot of work in training but we had not had the chance to play together, so there was a lot of talking going on during the match.”
On his goal he concluded, “When I play in midfield, I am not normally in the box for set pieces. I am just happy I got the pass, and was able to lift it over the ‘keeper.”
Inter stay seven points ahead of Juventus at the top of the Serie A table.
