Roma coach Luciano Spalletti talked about the 4-1 home loss to Juventus, claiming that luck was not on his side and that the numerous injuries took their toll.

Luciano Spalletti cannot believe it as his Roma side capitulate against Inter at San Siro

Following the 4-1 home defeat to Juventus, Roma coach Luciano Spalletti was understandably displeased, although he admitted his team were decimated by injuries, and claimed some episodes in the match went against them.

"I am angry to have lost 4-1: there were some situations that prevented us from preparing this match properly," he said to Gasport. "I have certain players in poor condition, due to a variety of reasons. And we were unlucky in some circumstances.

"On the second goal a deflection gave [Philippe] Mexes problems; we were unlucky.

"I am disappointed about the result, and for our players and the fans. We were playing against Juventus so there was an extra reason to do something more. But Juve deserved to win and all we can do is continue to work hard. Our objective remains [securing] the fourth place."

On the team's injury problems, he said: "It's difficult to prepare the match not knowing whether [Mirko] Vucinic will be able to play. We had some difficulties, and then there were some episodes, like the second goal, which was caused by an unlucky deflection that brought the ball right on Iaquinta's head.

"We have to hit our corners better; they did that better than us."
