Milan travel to the San Paolo Stadium on Sunday night for what is always a special game against Napoli.
The Azzurri’s director, Pierpaolo Marino has said it will be a big match for his side who have failed to pick up a victory in ten straight matches.
He told Datasport, “It’s a 80s classic, from the days when the two teams played each other for the title.
“Those moments are still remembered and lived, in this city. So much so, that despite the team’s current slump, the game is sold out.”
Napoli coach Roberto Donadoni played in many of those encounters his boss was alluding to, and Marino noted, “Donadoni’s presence will make this age-old encounter even more interesting.
“It will be emotional not only for him, but I think for Milan’s bosses as well, who will find him a tough opponent, as they did when he coached Livorno.”
Marino concluded, with a word on Naples native Marco Borriello, “He is a player we like, but it would be premature to say anything else. Milan bet much on him and despite his injuries, I do not think the Rossoneri’s judgement has changed.”
