Catania striker Giuseppe Mascara has been in fine form this season, assisting in the Sicilian team's successful season that currently sees them sit 10 points above the relegation zone.

"Going to a big club? I must say that it's an honour already to play for Catania," he revealed in an interview with Radio Kiss Kiss.

"It is the club that represent my city. I always try to give my best Sunday after Sunday However, if I received a proposal from a top club then I would assess the situation."

The 29-year-old has become known for scoring long range volleys, as he did this weekend against Udinese in a 1-1 draw and he has also struck spectacular goals against Palermo and Inter in the past.

"In training I often try these types of goals, sometimes they work out and sometimes they don't. I never thought that it would have been possible to score such goals in the league," said the former Genoa player.

"[Coach Walter] Zenga always gives me tips on the goalkeepers I will be facing, their qualities and their defects. The rest I did for myself, it is a solution that I like very much. With the speed of modern football, goalkeepers are often out of their nets."

Mascara is the Rossoazzurri's top goalscorer this season, having found the back of the net on nine occasions.
