Romanews.eu reports that Roma's Brazilian goalkeeper Doni, Chilean playmaker David Pizarro and striker Vincenzo Montella all had medical examinations at a private clinic this morning.

The South American 'keeper was in action against Udinese yesterday, but went in for tests after struggling with back problems in recent weeks.

“How do I feel? Pretty good, we’ll see for Wednesday’s match,” he told reporters upon leaving the Villa Stuart clinic with team-mate Vincenzo Montella, who also underwent a check-up.

Midfielder David Pizarro limped off during the first half of yesterday's game and there are fears that he has torn the rectus femoris muscle in his thigh. It is an injury which could rule him out of the Champions League last 16 second leg clash with Arsenal on Wednesday night.

“I feel better and we’ll see for the Arsenal game,” the ex-Udinese man said to reporters while driving away in his car.

On a brighter note, Luciano Spalletti could welcome back Alberto Aquilani for the midweek game. The Italian international is still nursing an ankle problem but insisted he will be ready for the visit of the Gunners in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I’ll do everything to play,” he stated. “I have tried too hard during the week and this caused me some niggling pain, but I should be fit for the game with Arsenal.”

Meanwhile, Francesco Totti was left out of the team that drew with Udinese on Saturday but his coach insisted this was only a precaution.
