thumbnail Hello,

The Italian international is pleased with Juve's last-gasp victory over Toro and says they will give their all to progress in Europe...

Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri handed Vincenzo Iaquinta a rare start last night, as a late Giorgio Chiellini header gave the Old Lady a crucial win over Torino in the Derby della Mole.

The result means the Bianconeri remain seven points adrift of Inter in the Serie A table, as the Nerazzurri triumphed away to Genoa.

“I am satisfied with my performance,” Iaquinta told Juve’s official website, after the Stadio Olimpico encounter.

“We brought home three important points which confirmed that we are going through a good period of form.”

Juventus will be in action again on Tuesday when they will host English giants Chelsea in the return leg of their Champions League last 16 tie, hoping to overturn a one-goal deficit to go through to the quarter-finals of the competition.

“We will now turn our focus on Chelsea and that’s a game we want to win at all costs,” stated the ex-Udinese forward.

“Will I be in the starting XI? I don’t know, I am at 100 per cent and I am happy to have played such an important game.

“But [Alessandro] Del Piero and [David] Trezeguet were rested to lead us to victory over Chelsea.”

It is safe to assume that Iaquinta will be on the bench on Tuesday for the Chelsea game.
