Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has warned of the potential pitfalls his side face in the Derby della Mole later tonight against bitter city rivals Torino.
The Granata are fired-up and they are desperate for points in order to remain in Serie A. Juventus, on the other hand, want to keep in touch with Inter at the top of the table, but they will also have an eye on their forthcoming clash with Chelsea in the Champions League.
Buffon knows that the derby promises to be a difficult match, regardless of Torino's position down at the wrong end of the table.
"Finally it's time for my first derby of the season,” Buffon told Tuttosport. “However, we will find a confident Torino side.
"I want to retain the tradition of never having lost a Turin derby since my arrival at Juventus. I am hoping to extend this positive run."
The Italian international believes winning the derby could propel the Bianconeri towards a bigger result on Tuesday night against Chelsea.
"Winning points against Torino could give us a major boost in order to confront the game in the Champions League," added Buffon.
"In addition, the league could still be wide open if we hear of a good result from Genoa."
Genoa welcome the Old Lady's bitter rivals Inter later this afternoon.
