thumbnail Hello,

The legendary 1982 World Cup winner has given the low-down on the Nerazzurri goalkeeping situation and heaped praise on the Brazilian ace.

Julio Cesar has established himself as one of the best shot-stoppers in world football and his heroics have contributed enormously to helping Inter claim a trio of Scudetti on the trot.

“The Brazilian is undoubtedly one of the best goalkeepers in the world,” ex-Juventus and Italy net-minder Dino Zoff told FcInterNews.it.

“Along with [Gianluigi] Buffon, he dominates the national and international stage and there must be a reason why he is the No. 1 in the Brazilian national side…

“He has a great sense of positioning, he is outstanding coming off his line and is great at commanding his defence.”

Inter understudy Francesco Toldo has just extended his contract by two more years but Emiliano Viviano could be the name for the future as he joins the Beneamata ranks next summer.

“Toldo deserves [a new contract] because he has protected the Inter goal for so long and is always ready when [Jose] Mourinho calls upon him,” asserted Zoff.

“As for Viviano, people are saying good things about him and his qualities are undisputed. We should just let him grow because it is a very difficult role. We’ll see in the future…”
