Antonio Cassano has urged Italy boss Marcello Lippi to give him and Giampaolo Pazzini a chance with the Azzurri...
And one not just for himself, but also for youngster and striking partner Giampaolo Pazzini.
In his post-match interview with Sky, Cassano, who has never really found room in a Lippi administered Italian side, was very modest.
“Perhaps I manage to do a few assists, but the important thing is that someone finishes the job and puts the ball in the back of the net.
“Pazzini does that, and has done it again today, I hope he can carry on like this and get into the national side."
On his own chances of playing in the Confederations Cup this summer, Antonio was doubtful, “I don’t know,” he mused, “But I hope there is a small door open for me, otherwise I get to go on holiday a little earlier.”
